Hey, Merry Christmas everybody!!!  (it is still proper to wish this until January 8, which is Epiphany, when the three Wise men arrived) and Happy New Year! 

I am so relieved to finally have gotten one of my murals up on my header here on this site. 

This is my mural of "Basket Ball Girl" and the model is Jessica from Detroit. (Sorry, I haven't created the photo reference link yet.)  Thank you so much Fairydustings, for the tutorial and the konk on my noggin to get my memory re-booted.  Every now and then I vent out about my slowness or other bothersome life events, and then I remove my big, verbose entries just before anyone can care enough to respond to them, but her forgiving encouragement is always there.  I am so thankful.

I will be putting up a new header every week or so just to show off my Detroit Murals, so check in often. 

Also, I am starting a new run of Art Classes as soon as we get 220 hook up for my kiln.  I am excited to let you know that I also got a torch for Christmas, so I am able to produce jewelry now!   There are rings to bezel set, and pendants to create, and crown settings to solder for hand polished semi-precious stones! HA! Now to clean the garage and set up a section of work bench!

I also got a new Green House to start my flowers and vegetable flats in!  I am so excited.  Only we have been told that the 19 days of no sun is just the start.  I am really frustrated about the gray sky.  I just know it would heat up in there if there were some sunlight. I've sorted all my seeds and am tapping my fingers for that sun.

I was recently able to buy our Son, Shawn, his mig welder with some of  my mural ernings, and he will also be happy to get the 220 hook up soon.  His sculptures and drawings for sculptures are mind boggling!  He should be selling them for some good college tuition money,  in the next year or so. He can weld me some great storage racks, a slab roller, and a few other Art Room pieces of equipment too.  I will be happy to buy him the materials and pay him labor.

My hubby gave me an Art Cart for Christmas too!  I am going to use it for my ceramics classes in my home studio.  I will pour my wedging table tomorrow and get the canvas stretched over it on Thursday.  We should from the electrician soon, so I should go shopping for the computerised timer kit for the kiln too.  I have a bunch of art supplies to inventory and re-organize, and then I will contact all my students on when they want to do a painting, drawing or clay class.  Oh, somehow, my pottery wheel needs a repair.  That is also on the 'to do' list. 

As far as class times go, it will be in the evenings, 4pm -6pm, except on Thursdays,

or on Saturdays from 10 am -12 pm and from 1pm - 3pm.  (I am still working on substitute teaching during the school days to get my professional certification application finalized.  Long story short, they're claiming that my 8 years of subbing still hasn't added up to 450 days of teaching yet. )  No fear, I will continue to teach until my goal is reached.    Please contact me for any information or to let me know you are interested in taking an art class.
